If anyone is meant for the fast-paced hustle and bustle of NYC, it's Georgia Fowler. She belongs in the city, but judging by the way she owns every runway and runs around with NYC's most elite crowds, it's as though the city actually belongs to her. She shines under the lights, walks tall amongst skyscrapers. But she’s a girl who never slows down and at any moment might book a flight back to Australia or New Zealand, the places she grew up in between. And when she's not working a room, a red carpet, or flying off to the next destination, she’s a frequenter of hidden beaches and quiet cafes, away from the crowds because she knows that a little break from the limelight now and then is good for the soul.
Georgia is a walking paradox—naturally stunning, simple, elegant, and casual all at once. She’s the girl next door, painting blank canvases in a messy bun and overalls one day, walking the runway at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Paris the next. She’s the type to be nestled up in a cozy coffee shop one hour, then off to a high fashion photo shoot before the coffee's gone. She’s self-disciplined, motivated, determined to help others, passionate about being active and healthy, quick to switch from workout gear to a chic blazer and heels for a night out. From sun up to sundown, runway to running errands, Georgia’s style is one that causes heads to turn, one that doesn’t go unnoticed. Nothing slows Georgia down. She knows what she wants and makes it a mission to get out there and take what’s hers.
First, CONGRATULATIONS on confirming to walk in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show! What was the casting process like? How did you find out you are going to walk in the 2016 show in Paris? What are you doing to prepare for the show?
I have been going to the casting for the past five years, so knew what to expect, however I was still as nervous as ever! I train leading up to the casting for months, and have dreamed up the moment since I was a little girl so I guess it's nerve racking because so much energy goes into the one moment and you want to be your absolute best!
When I found out I was confirmed I didn’t quite believe it, and I still have to pinch myself! There was a flood of emotions, and tears ha! But I’m very excited!
Leading up to the show I am just preparing myself so I can be at my utmost best. I shoot lots of lingerie year-round so I try to stay in shape all the time, and I love to exercise so it’s not so much a frantic stress in the lead up to the show, but just fine tuning so you know you’ve done everything you can to look the part on that runway!
You’re currently the face of the Nixon x Amuse Society capsule watch collection. Since it has to do with time we have to ask…if you could travel back to any moment in time, what moment would that be?
I wouldn’t mind going back to some seventies disco parties!
Word on the street is your finishing your degree in Psychology. Tell us more about that.
Unfortunately, I had to put that on hold as work was becoming so demanding-but I’ll get back to it! I did it for four years extramurally but I’m pretty driven and it’s so interesting and relevant to everyday life I really enjoyed the process. I hope to have a foundation at some point in the near future that may help young people with any struggling mental disorders that affect one in five people yet there is so much negative stigma about.
You grew up between Australia and New Zealand, two of our favorite places. What are some of your favorite places in Australia that a non-native might not otherwise know about?
I love everything about NZ and Aus, I like to go to hidden beaches and quiet cafes, though if I told you they wouldn’t be quiet anymore would they ;)
You have impeccable model-off-duty style. Where are some of your favorite places to shop? What are some pieces in your wardrobe that you can’t live without?
A good leather jacket, pair of flat black boots, well tailored pants, and a boyish blazer is a must have! I would say spend your money on these pieces and then have fun with cheaper items.
Describe your life right now in 3 emoji’s.
Star, Emoji face with two hands up, and Bicep ha!
What is your go to look for day? For night?
If I’m not working I’m straight into my workout gear so I have no excuse! But I guess usually it’s my baggy leather pants, a cashmere jumper, and some simple mules.
For night, I might through on some heels and a blazer over a t shirt. Though depends on the event- I’m a sucker for a pant suit, and still love to put on a dress and act a lady sometimes.
What are you listening to now?
I just found RY X that’s perfect to have on in the background, and I’m a sucker for a bit of James Brown, and James Bay on that note…Too many to mention!
Who is your ultimate fashion muse?
What does it mean to you to belong to Amuse Society?
We had so much fun on the shoot, and Amuse is such a dream to work for. It’s always honoring to be chosen as the face of something as there are so many beautiful girls out there, so I couldn’t be happier…Thank YOU!!!
